Learn More About DynEd – English Language Learning Specific for Students in Education

$44 billion in “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” (ARRA) funds targeted for education must improve student achievement and meet the requirements of four major education reforms previously authorized by Congress in 2007.  Implementing DynEd will help states and school districts with all of these requirements:

Requirement #1

Raising standards through college- and career-ready standards and high-quality assessments that are valid and reliable for all students, including English language learners and students with disabilities;

DynEd helps by providing an efficient, cost-effective, reliable, valid assessment of general English proficiency for kids through adults to alert educators about who is ready to be assessed in the mainstream and who needs special, language appropriate assessment of college or career readiness.  DynEd can also assist schools to bring ELL school populations across the threshold of readiness for mainstream participation through our blended instructional solutions.

Requirement #2

Increasing transparency by establishing better data systems tracking student progress over time;

Improving teacher effectiveness and ensuring an equitable supply and distribution of qualified teachers;

DynEd maximizes ESL teacher effectiveness by allowing the teacher to concentrate on doing what he/she does best, provide the essential personalization and extension of language beyond simply programmed materials.  To effectively engage students, teachers need to focus on making target language concepts and syntax come alive for their specific students, something published content can never adequately accomplish.  That’s why DynEd‘s blended approach stresses individual, repetitive skill development practice in the lab with the courseware so that students come to class prepared to use their listening and speaking practice in teacher-led group and individual presentation work.  Teachers orchestrate and lead while students do the speaking.  It’s no mystery why DynEd students get substantially better fluency results.  DynEd train’s teachers to exploit this blended method to the maximum and provides continuing pedagogical support during the life of each licensing contract.

Requirement #4

Supporting effective intervention strategies for lowest-performing schools.

Implementing a DynEd solution is a key intervention strategy for raising test scores at schools with ELL populations.  DynEd concentrates on developing fluency skills first, using a neuroscience-based approach which leverages the conceptual language framework we all have in our first language to accelerate English listening and speaking development.  Reading and writing skills follow, taking advantage of the aural/oral language already learned – the same sequence we used to learn our first language.  DynEd accelerates oral/aural fluency by 50% or more and positively influences literacy skill readiness even before students start to focus on reading.
