Recuperation at Home Without Falling Behind At School – Hospital Homebound Online Learning

In part three of our four part webinar series, Kim Spencer, Manager of the K12 Hospital Homebound Program, will discuss the difficulties districts face as they try to address the unique logistical, educational and emotional requirements of these special needs students.  Spencer will outline the obstacles that Hospital Homebound students face as they strive to stay on course with their school work and, at the same time, focus on recovery and medical treatment.  She will also describe how Florida’s Volusia School District is using a combination of K12 solutions to help their students overcome these obstacles to advance in their studies at a comfortable pace without missing the interaction of a classroom.

  • Using multiple platforms, including K12 products and Elluminate, to give a Hospital Homebound students access to the same information as their classmates
  • The successful partnership between the Volusia High School District and K12 Inc
