Lexile Conversion Table for Spring 2011 AIMS Reading – Grade 3

A study was conducted in the spring of 2007 that linked the AIMS Reading scale score with The Lexile Framework® for Reading.Use the student’s Spring 2011 AIMS Reading scale score to determine the student’s Lexile® measure for the 2011-2012 school year.

The Lexile Framework® is an educational tool that has been developed to measure reading comprehension and text difficulty by placing readers and text on the same developmental scale. Lexiles help educators, parents, and students to select targeted materials to improve reading skills and to monitor reading growth across the curriculum, in the library, and at home. Although Lexiles do not equate to grade levels, the measure that a student receives through the assessment link can be used to connect the reader with books, periodicals, and other materials that meet and challenge his or her individual reading ability.
