I have to write a PEP for every single child, even the gifted ones!
One teacher complains:
My team has the low kids and two thirds of them need PEPS! Plus, no where can we find a sample of an acceptable Math PEP! We are told we need to have research based interventions, but no one will show us a few acceptable WORKING documents and give us guidance on how to incorporate strategies when we are working with 30 plus kids in a fifty minute period! This on top of all the other paperwork is taking time away from actual teaching! You know, other professions have help to to fill out and file paperwork so they can concentrate on their true mission. If the state standards are automatically prescribed to the students PEP (personalized education plan), then it is possible to have the actual curriculum content, instructional lesson topics also prescribed to each and every student.
