Management System
A+nyWhere Learning System®: Management System
A+nyWhere Learning System® courseware program was designed to provide educators at all levels with flexibility and ease-of-use in delivering and customizing educational materials. It offers a very sophisticated approach to individualized instruction and provides educators and administrators with a multitude of student performance reports, seamlessly integrated into the comprehensive courseware.
All A+nyWhere Learning System® courseware curriculum resources can be assigned and customized from the management system by the educator and may include any instructional resources available to the school or district. New subjects and/or resources can be added or existing instructional resources changed at any time.
Educators can also manage other third-party software including CD-ROM titles, word processors, spreadsheets, and other application software from within the A+® program. These third-party resources can be incorporated into any student’s personalized lesson plan or launched in any sequence of use defined by the educator. Non-computer instructional resources and activities can also be added and customized for any student.
The A+® program has a wealth of functionality that can be described by reference to the “windows” the Management System contains. A brief description of these “windows” is as follows:
Users Management Window
Add, delete, and/or edit users and assign any user to a class. Easy-to-use importation and integration functions allow cross-maintenance with existing databases.
Classes Management Window
Set up classes, assign/remove teachers and students to/from classes, and transfer students between classes, with or without their progress records and assignment lists.
Assignment Management Window
Educators can establish and edit assignment lists, view all student reports, view and grade students’ essays or their work in other computer activities, and grade students’ work in non-computer activities. It also allows the educator to define rules that will govern a student’s usage of the A+® program, a particular assignment list, or a specific subject lesson.
Curriculum Authoring Management Window
Add, edit, and delete curriculum content. Additional flexibility allows educators to add completely new subject areas or lessons. Edited curriculum content can be immediately assigned to students automatically if the author so desires.
Standards Management Window
Add, edit and delete educational objective sets as well as the objectives within them.
ALS Skills Management Window
Administrators can add or modify skills linked to the A+® activities and objectives.
Administration Management Window
This window is a catchall for various system utilities and system-wide data such as the setup of multiple schools, definition of curriculum areas, grade levels, etc. It also allows the editing of rights, creation of “user types” (prepackaged set of rights), and maintenance of system defaults.
